That Rose-y Giveaway Glow

Of the many generous authors out there, I have to give a shout-out to M.J. Rose, who gave me 2 copies of each of her books to give away (plus 1 copy of each for myself). I haven't read her first novel, The Reincarnationist, yet, so I'll give you the synopsis from the back of the book:

A riveting epic thriller of secrets, history and murder that will challenge the way we think about who we are and who we were.

A bomb in Rome, a flash of bluish-white and photojournalist Josh Ryder's world exploded. Nothing will ever be the same.

As Josh recovers, his mind is invaded with thoughts that have the emotion, the intensity, the intimacy of memories. But these are not his memories. They are ancient ... and violent. There's an urgency to them he can't ignore - pulling him to save a woman named Sabina ... and the treasures she protects.

But who is Sabina?

Desperate for answers, Josh turns to the world-renowned Phoenix Foundation - a research facility that scientifically documents cases of past life experiences. He is led to an archaeological dig and to Professor Gabriella Chase, who has discovered an ancient, powerful secret that threatens to merge the past with the present. Here, the dead call out to the living, and murders of the past become murders of the present.

Also up for grabs is the next book in the series, The Memorist. Although I had some trouble connecting with the characters, I still enjoyed the read. You can see my review in the post below this one.

So, like I said, I have 2 copies of each book up for grabs. You can enter to win both books. All you have to do is this:

For 1 entry: Leave a comment on this post. Since Rose's books are all about reincarnation, we're going to have some fun - in your comment, please tell me who (or what) you would have like to have been in a past life or who you would like to be on your next go round. If you know about your past lives, by all means, tell me about it! Remember, this is just for fun, so go crazy.

For 2 entries: Post about this giveaway on your blog.

That's it - easy cheesy, as my kids would say. I will pick 4 winners on December 7. Thanks for entering, and thanks to M.J. for offering her books for this giveaway!

  1. Hmmm... if I could choose past or present, I would go with... oh, I can't really think of a single person. But there are time periods that I have always been interested in- 1780's, 1860's, 1940's but these are more for historical interest then anything else.

  2. Not a subject I have given much thought to really!! But, I think that I would like to have been an early settler - I have always been fascinated by those women who travel so far from family and make a new life for themselves. Granted it would have been very very tough, but still fascinating.

  3. Please enter me to receive a copy of each.

  4. Books sound wonderful! I probably would have been one of those women back in the old west. I've always had a thing for Wagon Trains and am fascinated with the strength of those folks in that timeframe.

    Thanks for the contest!

  5. Just for fun -- I think I'd like to have a turn as Audrey Hepburn - she was beautiful, talented, funny, generous, and well-liked and loved. What could be better than that? Thanks for the chance to win one of these books.

  6. Well, I would liked to have been Princess Victoria. She sounds very interesting, though I think that she gets her head cut off. That's a little gruelsome, but I'm very interested in royal histories.

    Great contest, be the way:)

    Please enter me:)

  7. I think in my past life, I was probably Elizabeth Bennett's little sister Mary. Yeah, that one.

In my next life, I'd like to be cool. Who cares who it is, as long as it's cool!

But I'd really like to be a cool author like Stephenie Meyer or Shannon Hale... or if not that, than can I at least be Josh Groban's personal assistent? THAT would be cool! :)

You did say have fun with it, right?

  8. I posted this once but it disappeared. Sorry if this duplicates. I've been really anxious to read these books so please enter me for both of them. If I could come back in my next life I would come back as my husband's dog. She is the princess! She's the first one he greets and she climbs into his lap while watching TV. She won't get into trouble from him if she does something wrong. She knows it too! He's a wonderful husband but nobody is as spoiled as that dog. I would have it made! Thanks for your contest and I've added it to my blog.

  9. Hmm, there are a lot of times I would have liked to have been: ancient Egypt, Renaissance Italy hanging around all of those artists, Regency England, Impressionist France...

So if I got to pick I would have loved to be Berthe Morisot, Mozart's sister Nannerl, and Ginger Rogers! :-)

  10. I'd love to enter - what a generous giveaway! Now let's see....there are too many past lives to choose from, so I'll go with a future life: I'd like to come back as one of my grandkids' children someday. It would be my way of getting even. :)

  11. Hi !

  12. That's a hard one! Going back to the past, I would have prefered to be a man. I would have hated being a woman way back! We couldn't do anything fun. Maybe James Joyce.

I blogged about your giveaway here:

  13. What fun! In the past, I probably would have been someone connected with Baroque music; either a composer or musician. In the future, I'd be on a starship in front of a com-panel. In this life, I'm a StarTrek fan who listens to a lot of Baroque music.

Please enter me. I'd love to read both books. Thanks.

  14. I must have been someone truly horrible in a past life and am paying for their sins in this life because my life is no bed of roses. I feel a real connection to the 1920s and 30s so I think I previously lived during that time. If I came back again(heaven forbid) I'd like to be a butterfly. How much trouble can a butterfly have?

  15. I would like to have been actively involved in the Women's Suffrage Movement, have had a chance to personally know Eliz. Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul -- such an interesting and important time. Would love to win one/either/both of these great sounding books. thanks

  16. I would like all to know that I was Grace Kelly. In fact, people have commented on our remarkable likeness. I am currently preparing for my trip to Monaco to reacquaint myself with my dear constituents and to re-establish myself at the head of the Royal Family. I expect that this time next week I shall be firmly ensconsed in the Palace so I wish you all adieu and please forward all communications to me via the Royal Mail.
Please also look for my debut movie called, "I Shot The Sheriff But I Did Not Shoot The Deputy" as I am reviving my acting career.
Thank you dear people... adieu, adieu.

  17. Does this sound weird? I'd like to have lived (and remembered) life in Biblical times. I am not religious, so I would like to have seen for myself what really happened. Maybe it would change my viewpoint.

  18. Well, I often think our 2 cats have quite the nice life (eat, sleep, play, sleep.. repeat) so my husband and I joke that it would be nice to come back as a housecat. Not a stray cat- their lives seem pretty hard! ;)

  19. Hmmmm... it's hard to pick a particular person but I know I would've liked to have experienced life in the early 1900s when everything was changing so rapidly. Imagine being excited about the invention of the car or the telephone!!

    Thanks for the giveaway :)

  20. i don't know of one person...Maybe..if we could go Merlin or someone in King Arthurs court. but i would love to go back and be part of the intial myths roman or greek. I also like the Victorian Era.. thank you for the giveaway.

  21. Can I toss my name in the hat for a copy of The Memorist?

If I could have chosen a past life, it would have to be in medieval times in Scottland, Ireland or Wales as the wife or daughter of a Laird or "Lord" of the manner, etc. I've always been fascinated with that time period in those regions.

Thanks for hosting the contest! :)

  22. I would have loved to have been a contemporary of Jane Austen's in 19th Century England. Thanks for the giveaway!
