Top Ten Tuesday: Quotes I Love About Books and Reading

I'm worn out from all that's going on in my life right now (see last week's TTT post for the details), so this is going to be a quick post. I love quotes from books and quotes about books, but I'm rubbish at remembering them and writing them down. I do, in fact, have a book quote journal that I have kept—irregularly—for years, but I'm pretty sure I've used all the entries in past TTT lists. So...here are some I found around the Web today. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you want to join in the TTT fun, do it! Check out That Artsy Reader Girl for all the deets.

Top Ten Quotes About Books and Reading

There you have it, ten quotes I love about the magic of books and reading. Which is your favorite? I'd truly love to know. Leave me a comment on this post and I will gladly return the favor on your blog.

Happy TTT!

  2. Keeping track of quotes is hard. I've started highlighting quotes in my Kindle because at least they show up in "My Clippings" and I can use them if needed.

    1. Easy highlighting is one of the best things about reading on a Kindle. I have purposely bought books—especially non-fiction ones—in an e-format instead of paper so I can mark them up without feeling guilty! Ha ha.

Thanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Deanna!

  3. I always love book quotes but because I do them regularly, I took the expression "freebie" a little wider. LOL

I love all of yours and probably have mentioned them on my list, as well. My favourite is the one by Louisa May Alcott.

My TTT this week is about lighthouses.

    1. I love book quotes as well. I just wish I was better about collecting them. In clearing off my bookshelves for sorting and packing, I came across a handwritten journal full of quotes about life that my mother made for me. I'm in awe of how much time it must have taken for her to write out all those quotes. Amazing! What a treasure.

Thanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Marianne!

    2. That is a beautiful treasure indeed. When we sorted out my parents' house (well, mostly my brothers did), we cam across some old notebooks of mine with collected quotes. My brotehrs asure me I have always made lists of anything and everything.

    1. Yes, someone (well, several someones) did a lovely job putting these quotes and graphics together. If I were more artsy, I would make my own instead of stealing them off the Internet, but alas...

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.

P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!
