Happy Tuesday and happy first day of Fall! It's been a little cooler here in the Phoenix area, which is always nice. I mean, the high was still 98 degrees, but we'll take it. My family always teases me for complaining about the weather since "you're just inside all day reading anyway." Touchè, family, touchè.

Anyway, today's TTT prompt is always a favorite: Top Ten Books On My Fall 2026 TBR List. I enjoy these seasonal lists so much that I started mine last week. See Part One here. Today, I'll be hitting you with ten more titles I'd like to read in the next few months.

1. Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman—I just started this YA contemporary novel about a young woman whose parents run a popular circus in Las Vegas. Although Harley has only ever wanted to be an aerialist, they insist she go to college in order to have a "real" future. Tired of feeling unheard, the 18-year-old leaves home,  joins a rival traveling circus, and starts learning the hard way that circus life isn't quite as magical as it seems. As she works to prove herself, she also has to reckon with the consequences of betraying her family.

2. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum—I've been rocking the Literary Escapes Reading Challenge this year, which requires reading a book set in each of the 50 U.S. states plus Washington, D.C. Kansas is one of the few I have left, so I decided to reread this classic which I loved as a child. Can't wait!

3. I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys—Another reread, my book club will be discussing this one at next week's meeting at my suggestion. It's a YA historical novel set in Romania in 1989, when the country was ruled by Nicolae Ceauşescu, a tyrannical dictator. Our main character, 17-year-old Cristian, wants to be a writer, but that's not possible in a place dominated by rules and fear. Forced by the secret police to become an informer, he is supposed to watch his family and friends, reporting any rebellious behavior to the government. Seeing this as an opportunity to help destroy the regime from within, Cristian risks everything to expose his fellow Romanians to the truths behind the lies they're all being fed. Is freedom worth it?

4. The Coldest Case by Tessa Wegert—This is the last installment in Wegert's Shana Merchant crime series, which I've enjoyed. (Never fear, fans, Wegert is now writing a spinoff series.) In this conclusion, the senior investigator is sent to a frozen island inhabited by only 8 people. Cary Caufield, a city slicker who, along with his partner, is documenting their year of remote island living for their profitable Instagram account, has gone missing while ice fishing. The other residents of Running Pine are keeping secrets, which is interfering with Shana's investigation and putting her own safety at greater risk. When the case catapults her back to a cold case she's never forgotten from her NYPD days, she's even more puzzled by what's happening on the island.

5. A Batter of Life and Death by Ellie Alexander—The second entry in a fun cozy culinary mystery series set in Ashland, Oregon, this installment sees baker Jules Capshaw competing in a reality tv baking competition. Just as the contest is heating up, one of her fellow contestants is murdered. Someone would kill to win the show's prize, but who?

6. Deep Secrets by Nikki Shannon Smith—I'm a sucker for books about the Titanic, so when Afoma Umesi from Reading Middle Grade mentioned this historical novel on her Instagram (@readingmiddlegrade), I knew I wanted to read it. It stars a young woman who is haunted by strange dreams of cold nights and bright stars. She believes the dreams are related to her mysterious father, a man she is forbidden from wondering about. When she meets someone who knew him, she learns some shocking truths about her family and herself.

7. Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness—The Chaos Walking series is one of my favorite YA series ever. I've been rereding it this year in preparation for stepping into the new spinoff series Ness is writing. Monsters of Men is the exciting conclusion of the original trilogy, in which our heroes must save their world, which is being fought over by two warring factions at the same time a ship full of new settlers is heading right for them. What will happen to Todd, Viola, and the turbulent world they live in? Is peace truly possible in a land so full of problems?

8. The Haunted Librarian by Auralee Wallace—This cozy paranormal tale stars a newly-hired librarian who finds love and belonging in her new workplace, whose patrons include a host of ghosts. Some of the spirits are creating chaos that threatens to close the library. Can it be saved?

9. Death in the Arctic by Tom Hindle—A locked-room murder mystery set about a luxury airship flying to the North Pole? Yes, please! This book sounds super fun.

10. It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Murder by Ally Carter (available October 13, 2026)—Another cozy mystery that is sure to be entertaining, this one is about a billionaire's grandson and a housekeeper's daughter who have to join forces to find out who's planning to murder the wealthy heir.
