It's Raining Books! Or, Top Ten Books On My TBR List That Feature Rain
8:35 PM
What's the April weather like in your neck of the woods? In my corner of the Sonoran Desert, it's HOT, like in the 90s and above. We've had some overcast skies in the last week, but no rain, sadly. None is predicted in the forseeable future either. Boo hoo. Maybe this week's Top Ten Tuesday topic—April Showers—will act as a rain dance to bring our parched desert some much needed moisture. A girl can dream!
For my list today, I'm going to keep things simple and highlight ten books on my TBR list that feature rain in some way or another. I've had a long day, so I'm not going to include plot summaries, but I will link the book titles to Goodreads. How's that?
As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.
Top Ten Books On My TBR List That Feature Rain
- in no particular order -
There you go, ten books on my TBR list that feature rain in some way or another. Have you read any of them? What are your favorite "rain" books? I'd love to know. Leave me a comment on this post and I will gladly return the favor on your blog.
Happy TTT!

April weather in Toronto is generally pretty rainy. Temperatures hover around 10 Celsius, but can range from 0 to 20 or so. (Or 50 Fahrenheit with a range of about 33 to 68). I wish I could share some of our rain with you!
ReplyDeleteNice list - don't think I've read any of them, but they fit the topic for sure. Sorry you haven't had rain. We have had some in the last couple of days - actually more than could be handled in some spots. Wish it wouldn't all come at once and then some flooding occurs. Anyway, hope you guys get some too. Have a good week, Susan!
ReplyDeleteI loved Rainy Day Sisters and am adding Isaac's Storm to my TBR as well as several others. April here in North Alabama can't make up its mind. Sometimes it's cold (60s) sometimes it's warmer (80s) sometimes it's gray and dreary and then it's absolutely gorgeous. You never know what you'll wake up to!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any, and couldn't think of many either! One rainy list was enough!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough I saw Weather Girl sitting face out today at the library and I thought of this topic. I don't know what it would be like to read but it certainly fits in with this TTT.
ReplyDeleteHere in the north east of England it's a typical April with lots of showers but also sunny spells. I'm amazed at all these rainy book covers - and I haven't read any of them!
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of Shouting at the Rain, but the cover had me check it out and add to my TBR for when I'm looking for MG.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Louise, I did the same thing. I also added the Kate Hewitt book, as I have enjoyed many books she has written. Nice list, Susan. We have had lots of rain over the last week, and everything has greened up nicely. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteA great list. I include links to Goodreads to save on time and space 😂 I've been wanting to read Weather Girl for years. Maybe one day I will get round to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you found ten books for this topic! I was struggling with the rain/water theme, which is why I went with blue covers! I haven't read any of these.
ReplyDeleteIs 90s really considered hot in your neck of the woods? AZ gets crazy hot though it snowed the one time I visited in March. You found some great books to feature. This prompt was harder than I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteOof, here's hoping this helps to manifest some rain for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! Isaac's Storm was on my daughter's high school reading list, and I've always meant to read it... some day!
ReplyDeleteI have Fifty Words for Rain here. I hope to read that one soon.
ReplyDeleteOur April tends to be hormonal in that four-seasons-in-one-day kind of way. Lovely temperatures during the day, but close to freezing during the night. And best not to get used to it because it might be very different next week!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I haven't read any of these.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the cover for Fifty Words for Rain
ReplyDeletei'm in nevada so i am right there with you about wishing for rain! "funny feelings" is another book with a beautiful cover featuring rain :)
ReplyDeleteWe actually got some rain this week in (normally) sunny California! It was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFifty Words for Rain has a stunning cover!
Nice work!! Isaac's Storm was riveting!
ReplyDeleteI have not read any on your list, but several look interesting. "The Art of Racing in the Rain" has been on my TBR for quite some time and I still look forward to reading it some day. 😂
ReplyDeleteI want to travel and see a desert one day, I have never seen one. I like the covers you chose!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, Susan! I haven't read any of them yet, but I love the covers. I hope you're having a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe covers for the books on your list are outstanding! Great list this week!
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of Shouting at the Rain! You found some really good ones for this week's TTT. :D
ReplyDeleteI haven’t read any of these. Added Isaac’s Storm to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteSome of your cover art features are so very unique! Makes me curious about the stories inside. :) Hope you got some rain; we've certainly been getting some so maybe I can wish some to you. Thanks for visiting my list last week!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have a title that fits with the theme, even if it isn't specifically about rain. Check out The Fair Weather Friend by Jessie Garcia! It's a thriller about a missing meterologist!
ReplyDeleteLove these covers! Weather Girl is on my TBR too. Hope you'll enjoy all of these :)
ReplyDeleteThat cover for Shouting at the Rain! So pretty.
