Top Ten Tuesday: Book Covers That Are Saaaweeettt!
9:38 AM
I don't know about you, but I've definitely gained the COVID 19—pounds, that is! Between quarantine boredom snacking and hibernating due to the merciless summer sun, I've done more eating than moving in the last few months. Part of my problem is a raging sweet tooth. No matter how hard I try, I just can't curb it! So, for today's Top Ten Tuesday topic—Books That Make Me Hungry—I decided to celebrate dessert by featuring ten book covers that give me a sugar rush just by looking at them. Bonus: These covers might make you drool, but they won't elevate your blood sugar or add inches to your waistline. Sweet!
In case you've been living under a rock, you should know that Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. It's a fun weekly meme that helps spread the love all over our wonderful book blogosphere. If you're not joining in, you really should be.
Top Ten Book Covers That Make Me Hungry for Sweets
Artichoke's Heart by Suzanne Supplee
Rhymes with Cupid by Anna Humphrey
Sally's Candy Addiction by Sally McKenney
Cake Confidence by Mandy Merriman
See You at Harry's by Jo Knowles
Cure for the Common Breakup by Beth Kendrick
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert
Peppermint Cocoa Crushes by Laney Nielson
The Unlikelies by Carrie Firestone
Cookie Encounter by Michelle Connell
Are these books as delicious as they look? No clue. I haven't read any of them. Have you? What are the sweetest book covers you've seen? What books make your tummy rumble? I'd love to know. Leave me a comment on this post and I will gladly return the favor on yours.
P.S. After I finished writing this post, I realized I had already done a TTT list of food-laden book covers back in October 2017. Apparently, I really like some of these covers. LOL.
Happy TTT!

Those covers are making me crave sweets now! Great list!
ReplyDeleteRight? I've been craving sweets all day!
DeleteThanks for coming by, Leah!
I'm with you on the COVID weight! These book covers are really making my sweet tooth act up. Good thing I don't have any sweets in the house at the moment!
ReplyDeleteYou're smart to keep the sweets out of the house. I always have some on hand, which explains the weight gain ... I need some of your self-discipline!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Jen!
I agree that these covers themselves leave me wanting to snack. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's amazing what a good book cover can do - it can grab our attention, evoke emotion, and even make our stomachs growl!
DeleteThanks for coming by, Anne!
I read two of these - The Unlikelies and Cure for the Common Breakup. I love ice cream, so both covers are winners for me. The first one makes me want to poke the bottoms to find the caramels.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. You're one of those, huh? Whenever I buy boxes of chocolate, I find half-eaten ones from my kids biting into them to see what's inside. I like the boxes that tell you which flavors are in the box.
DeleteThanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Sam!
I made Mason open his mouth so I could look at his teeth... they are ALL sweet teeth! He must get it from me! 🤷🏼♀️
ReplyDeleteIt's DEFINITELY genetic!
DeleteThanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, birthday girl!
I think I need cake now. And ice cream. I haven't read any of them but they look like romances.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Cake and ice cream is always a good idea, in my opinion :)
DeleteI didn't really read the plot summaries of any of these books, but I think most are romances? Not sure.
Thanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Lissa!
Oh my, these are beautiful. I don't know which one I like the most. Maybe that first one, with the chocolate candy? Yum.
ReplyDeleteI do love me a box of chocolates! I prefer ones where I can choose what's in it, though - like they do at See's. Yum.
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Deb!
I'm more of a savoury person but I really want some chocolates or something now. Great post!
ReplyDeleteBased on your spelling of "savory," I'm guessing you're not in the U.S. Too bad! Costco has these amazing chocolate caramel macadamia nut clusters. A little salt with your chocolate - they're perfection. Yum.
DeleteThanks for coming by, Catherine!
And now I just really want cake? Thanks for sharing these delightful covers with us!
ReplyDeleteI want cake pretty much all the time, so I get you! Too bad it's so much work to make one. It's a good thing for my waistline, but still ... cake!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Deanna!
We did have several of the same yummy covers! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat minds and all that :)
DeleteThanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Lark!
What scrumptious and yummy covers.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Right? I could drool over them all day ...
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Marilyn!
Oh man, those covers look so yummy! Mmmmm....
ReplyDeleteI know! I just want to eat them all up :)
DeleteThanks for coming by, Nicole!
The one that makes me want something sweet is your first book: Artichoke's Heart. But, I'll admit that the cover and the title seem at odds.
ReplyDeleteVery true. It kind of makes me think of chocolate-covered artichokes. Blech!
DeleteThanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Helen!
Oh wow. I haven't read any of those books, but the covers are AMAZING. I want all the treats!
ReplyDeleteMe, too. Always :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Lisa!
These all look delicious! :)
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
I agree. They've been making my sweet tooth ache all day!
DeleteThanks for coming by, Lauren!
Ooh these are fun. :) Sally's Candy Addiction- yum!
ReplyDeleteI've made some of Sally's cookie recipes, so I'm all in to try her candy. Delish!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Greg!
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert is a popular book this week! Here's my TTT. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! And no wonder - that cover is divine. I haven't read the book, but it does sound like one I would like.
DeleteThanks for coming by, Lectrice!
Definitely delicious covers and I'm hungry for sugar now!
ReplyDeleteI'm ALWAYS hungry for sugar. It's a curse!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Beverley!
I'm the opposite-clearing out two houses and all the stress has me actually losing weight which I am pleased about!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad someone is losing during these crazy times. Good luck with clearing out houses. Sounds like a lot of work.
DeleteThanks for coming by!
Great list! These are all very tasty covers.
ReplyDeleteI should stay away from tasty covers. They just make me hungry!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Jess!
I definitely need the cake how-to book. I like how you mixed the fiction with a couple of recipe books. DELICIOUS!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I don't think I've ever made a cake completely from scratch. I'd like to know how to do that.
DeleteThanks for coming by, Debra!
So many delicious covers here! We haven't exactly been skimping on the sugar either, and yes, putting on the Covid pounds.
ReplyDeleteI've spent a fair amount of the last six months baking. It shows :)
DeleteThanks, as always, for coming by and commenting, Marg!
Books covers with food on them are always so fun! Great list idea! :)
ReplyDeleteRight? I can't resist them!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Jaime!
Why does a book with Artichoke in the title have chocolate on the cover? I don't understand. XD
ReplyDeleteThat sundae looks amazing and I want one even though I only just had breakfast. XD
That cake is absolutely beautiful.
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is on my TBR but it's not a genre I normally read so IDK if I'll ever actually get to it. I just think the cover is really cute. :P
That's gotta be a record for how many marshmallows you can fit into one cup. O.o
And the Unlikelies cover is so cute too! I love the art style. :) Great post!
I admit that I mainly drink cocoa for the marshmallows :)
DeleteThanks for coming by, Heather!
Sally's Candy Addiction has such a fun cover! It definitely makes me hungry.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun collection of covers; I discovered lots of new books!
Sally's website has lots of great recipes, although I haven't really looked for candy ones. I will now, though!
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Lulu!
now i am need of some sugar rush, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I didn't see this post before lunch lol. The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is such a great title I'm curious about the book now.
