TGIF—Time to Hop!

It's Friday and you know what that means here in book bloggerland—it's time to hop!  This is my favorite weekly event because it's just a good ole time.  I love finding new book blogs to follow.  It's always fun to see what's going on on other blogs and to see what books everyone's recommending.  If you want to join up (and you really should), click on over to Crazy For Books to get all the details.

This week's question is:

What is the one genre you will NEVER read?

- Easy—I'll never read erotica.  Ever.  There are other genres I shy away from (poetry, comic books, textbook-ish non-fiction, etc.), but, if a book in those genres sounded intriguing enough, I would still pick it up.  Not so with erotica.  When I say never, I mean never.

What about you?

If this is your first time visiting BBB, welcome!  I'm so excited you're here.  Please take a look around, make a comment (or two or three or ten) and, most of all, enjoy yourself.  I'll definitely return the favor.  If you're an old follower, a thousand thanks for your support of my blog.  I love writing it and it makes me happy to know that other people enjoy it, too.

Have a great weekend, everybody.  Happy reading!

  1. There is nothing wrong with knowing what you like! I forgot to mention Westerns on my list...just doesn't interest me one bit

  2. I don't read much erotica myself either. It has to come HIGHLY recommended by someone I trust for me to even THINK about giving it a try. The one time I stepped out of my comfort box I read Fifty Shades and regretted it!

  3. Amen! Great answer. I hate erotica and not because I'm a bug prude. ;) I hate it because it's horribly written and the authors aren't in it for the art but the money.

  4. That is one of the genres I don't read either, along with a few other ones.

  5. Ahh now, I used to work in a bookshop, many moons ago...and late one evening I caught a chap who'd managed to get himself locked in with us after hours...doing something...unpleasant...over the erotica section. That memory always stays with me and completely puts me off the entire genre!!

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog this weekend, I am now following.
    Best Wishes
    Nicki J Markus

  7. Yes, erotica isn't my thing either.

Thanks for stopping by my blog =)

  8. Lol, as I hop around I notice erotic is one very commonly avoided genre.

  9. Great Answer. Erotica isn't really my cup of tea either

  10. Yep, that's the one I said I wouldn't read either. But if we could have listed a second one I probably would have said books with vampires and zombies. (Classics such as Count Dracula excluded, but I haven't read that yet.)
Thanks for stopping by my blog a week or so ago!

  11. I can relate to that, Susan....thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  12. Thanks for stopping by my blog, Susan! That is funny that you left the PNW for Phoenix. We left Phoenix for the PNW. You definitely don't get many gray days down there! lol

  13. Thanks for stopping by my blog this weekend too.

    I don't prefer erotica either.

I see you are reading the Joanna Fluke series - I am on #9 - haven't read one in awhile - might have to do that.

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog today, Susan!!! Ugh, I know what you mean. I won't ever read erotica either...

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.

P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!
