Huh--did you know I'm related to the couple in the very first picture? It's Jerry's brother and his wife. That's their adopted daughter. At this very moment, they're waiting anxiously as the mother of their new son goes into labor.

Jerry's sister placed a child 6 years ago and so many members of the family thought she was avoiding responsibility. They thought she should face up and take care of the baby herself--that she wouldn't learn her lesson if she didn't. I don't get that. Giving a child the life he or she deserves--with the parents he or she deserves--is so much more important than a mostly-grown woman learning a specific life lesson. Especially when she can learn about sacrifice and true love AND provide the best life possible for her child!

You can't imagine how much I wish some of my clients were a little less selfish with their illegitimate children....

I agree with you - adoption should always be about the welfare of the child. I think too many birthmoms are pressured into keeping their babies, no matter how ill-equipped they are for motherhood. It's so sad, because it's always the child who suffers.

This is Paula...Robin's sister-in-law. What a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing that. Adoption is near and dear to our hearts and lives. Thanks for sharing the picture of us....that was a fun surprise. We actually just had our son born yesterday morning and we are waiting for paperwork to be finished so we can bring him home. Thanks again, what a great story....I cried.
