You Know You've Taken on Too Many Reading Challenges When...
9:30 PM
...you forget about one of the challenges you signed up for. This is what happened with the Unread Authors Challenge. Somehow, I neglected to post my challenge list on my sidebar, consequently forgetting I ever signed up for it. Man! This is what happens after you turn 30 - your memory just starts slipping away... Well, I have rectified the situation. And, just because I can't stop myself, I'm taking on Challenge #4 - Fall Into Reading. This one runs from September 23 - December 21, and is hosted by Callapidder Days. It's a casual challenge, with no limits on how many books to read and there will be prizes.
So, here's my list:
The Giver - Lois Lowry
The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan
The Zookeeper's Wife - Diane Ackerman
Uglies - Scott Westerfield
Sarah's Quilt - Nancy E. Turner
Woman In Red - Eileen Goudge
You can't sign up for this one until the 21st, I think, but if it sounds interesting, check out Callapidder's site - it's really fun!

Hope you enjoy "Lightning Thief". Such a great series. I loved "These is My Words" by Nancy Turner but have not read "Sarah's Quilt" yet. I need to pick it up because the first one was great.

I have never gotten around to reading The Giver, although I keep meaning too! I've heard it's one of those "can't miss" books. Thanks for being part of the challenge!

Deena - I think that's awesome that your son has started a book blog. That's really cool. I don't always review kids' books, but I think everything on this blog is appropriate for a 13 year old.
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking at YA novels from an adult perspective - it would be really interesting to see what an actual young adult has to say about them!
