BBB Is Under Construction

You've probably noticed by now that my blog is in the middle of a re-design.  The last time I did this was in 2013!  With my 15th blogoversary coming up fast, I figured it was time to spruce things up a bit.  I wanted to keep the warm, friendly vibe that Bloggin' 'bout Books has always had while giving it a more fun, modern feel.  Amanda over at Simply Stella Design Studio is doing a wonderful job.  I'm thrilled with how the blog looks so far.  We're still working on both the design and the content, so please hang in there while we get it all figured out.  Thanks for your patience and your loyalty!

    1. You've inspired me to submit a design request to Amanda! I am nervous but excited.

    2. Awesome! Amanda's been really great to work with. She's easy to communicate with and has listened to all my ideas/suggestions and done her best to make them happen, going above and beyond to get the blog just the way I want it. We're still working on it, but it's been fun to see it all come together.

    1. Thanks so much, Christopher! I love that it feels welcoming. That's exactly the vibe I was going for :)

  4. Yes, I noticed the other day that you had "redecorated" I liked your old one but this is also a great idea, love it. I'm always looking forward to your posts, no matter what the colour but I love green, so: well done.

    1. I liked the old design as well, but I think it was definitely time for a change! I love green (one of the many things we have in common), so I'm thrilled with the new color scheme.

    2. I would be, as well. Is this a suggestion by your blog provider or did you have to find all the pictures and wallpaper etc. yourself?

    3. I told the designer what I wanted in terms of the general look and feel of the blog, including choosing a color scheme, and then I let her work her design magic! I had seen a few of her other blog designs and told her which I liked best, so it kind of matches that one but has its own unique flavor, if that makes sense.

    4. Ah, I see, good idea to have a designer.

  7. I love the new look, Susan. You're brave...I am way past the date when I should have done something like this, but I'm always afraid that I will just end up messing everything up to the point that it is beyond recovery.

I first saw the new design on my phone, so I didn't get the true impact of the new look. It really pops on my computer.

BTW, we visited Salt Lake City on the just-completed road trip and met one of the nicest ladies in the world there. She could tell we were a little disappointed in all the restoration work being done on the Tabernacle, so she walked us inside a nearby building where church was being held in a different part of the building and gave us a few tips on other buildings not to miss. Turns out she was the organ player for the service she was heading toward, so she really went out of her way to help us.

    1. Ha ha. Well, I've tried doing blog re-design myself and while I've learned a lot, my skills are still pretty much non-existent. At this point, I'd rather pay someone to do it for me. This blog re-do wasn't cheap, but I think it's worth it!

I'm glad you had such a great experience in SLC! There's lots to see there, but it is a big bummer that Temple Square is under construction. It will look amazing when it's all done—it's just going to take awhile still. How awesome that you got a personalized tour. What a nice lady!

    1. I figured it was time! And it has been a lot of fun to see it all come together. The designer is wonderful and has made the process smooth and not stressful at all.

  10. First, I just want to say that I LOVE the re-design!! It looks so good. I'm always so intimidated or don't even know how to start doing the process. Congrats on 15 years though! That's pretty impressive!!

I love this take on this prompt!! I always get caught up by anything that has florals. I don't know why.. or if it's just whimsical looking! I also really enjoy items with cracks or breaks. Kind of similar to the something not right you listed.

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.

P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!
