New Reading Challenges for 2020? Yes, Please!
1:00 AM
Even though I'm not good at completing them, I love reading challenges. They're fun and they often push me to read things I wouldn't necessarily read otherwise. So, this year, I'm going to sign up for five of them:
2020 Literary Escapes Challenge (hosted by Escape With Dollycas Into a Good Book)—I had a good time with the 2019 challenge, even though I only got 39 states and 15 countries, so I'm going to do this one again in 2020. It's a fun one.
Medical Examiner Challenge (hosted by Rick Mills)—Even though this challenge is a little macabre (you count the corpses you find in the murder mysteries you read), it's fun and easy, so I'm gloving up for this one again in 2020.
Popsugar Reading Challenge (hosted by Popsugar)—I've never done this annual reading challenge before, but the prompts look intriguing, so I'm going for it.
Cruisin' thru the Cozies Reading Challenge (hosted by Socrates' Book Reviews)—I've been enjoying a few different cozy mystery series, so I'm going to take this one on as well.
Middle Grade Reading Challenge (hosted by Becky's Book Reviews)—I love MG books, so reading 12 should be a cinch!

Oh my, the Medical Examiner one gave me one heck of a laugh!!! Good luck with them all.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. I didn't think it was that morbid until my daughter said, "You're counting WHAT?" LOL
DeleteGreat challenges; the Medical Examiner Challenge made me smile! I wasn't going to do the Literary Escapes Challenge, but I always list the location of my books so I think I will join again. :-)
ReplyDeleteI list the settings of my books, too, even if I'm not formally doing a reading challenge. It's just fun for me.
DeleteI like a lot of MG books, too, and I just read a great one: Midsummer's Mayhem, by Rajani LaRocca. Maybe it'll fit on your list, too.
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I've got some fun ones on the docket, but I'm definitely open to suggestions. I haven't heard of MIDSUMMER'S MAYHEM, but I'll definitely check it out.
DeleteI am doing Literary Escapes too. I "read" my final state today (Wyoming) for the 2019 challenge. I didn't complete it in 2018, so I am on cloud 9 right now. Good luck with all of these.
ReplyDeleteNice! I only got 39 states, but I wasn't very organized about it. This year, I'm going to be more strategic :)
DeleteSounds like some fun challenges ahead. I agree, I don't always complete them, but they are fun and get me to read outside my comfort zone. There are a couple here that look interesting, so I will have to decide if I want to add anymore. Good Luck Susan.
