Because What's a New Year Without a New Challenge?
9:59 AM
My favorite (bloggy) part of a new year used to be picking out reading challenges to work on for the next 12 months. Then, I realized how overwhelmed they made me feel and how little progress I actually made on them! These days, I only choose one or two that really tickle my fancy; if I don't complete them, I don't beat myself up about it. It's just for fun, after all.
I've had the most fun doing challenges where you track in which states your books take place, so Book Journey's Where Are You Reading Challenge sounded right up my alley. The setting up of a Google map is a little beyond my abilities, so I'll just keep track of my progress on my right sidebar, as I've been doing for the past couple years. If you'd like to join in this fun challenge (bonus: if you read books set in all 50 states by December 31, 2014, you'll be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to Amazon or Barnes & Noble), click on over to Book Journey and sign up.
Happy 2014!

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.
P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!

I gave up on Challenges a few years ago and haven't missed them!! The reading guilt was overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!
You're amazing to read and review so many books, Susan! 200 is a book every 36 hours! Do you speed read!? Wowza!
ReplyDelete2012 I hit 100 books for the first time ever, but this year I kept forgetting to write down the titles so I don't know, but probably not more than 50. Too busy of a year! Maybe I can go back through my purchases, Kindle and library record and try to figure it out though . . . :-) Welcome back and Happy New Year!
I gave up on challenges a few years back but I may still participate in one or two of my own. Hope you enjoy this one!
