How will the humans be able to take back their world?? I feel like the way Meyer ended it makes it easier to explore that in future books. Very interesting. I'm with you on not getting why Wanderer loved Jared so much. Man, if I was looked at with so much hatred and pretty much abused, I think any romantic thoughts would have fizzled out pretty quickly. But I can see how her BODY would respond to him. It was SO interesting! I don't know that I liked the book as much as the Twilight series, but I still enjoyed it very much!Erikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06298378690353448600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32315311.post-41918222996508540672008-06-06T13:16:00.000-07:002008-06-06T13:16:00.000-07:00I just borrowed a copy of The Host from my girlfri...I just borrowed a copy of The Host from my girlfriend and hope to read it soon. I liked the way it LOOKED like it was going to end, I just didn't like the way it ACTUALLY ended - do you know what I mean? It seemed like sort of a cop out ending.

Otherwise, I really liked it!

Julie - You really should read Stephenie Meyer. I would start with the Twilight series, though. The Host really is not nearly as freaky as Invasion - it's less of a sci-fi/horror and more of a character-driven drama. Really. It definitely has sci-fi elements, but it's not a typical sci-fi/techno novel.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05344704891037668456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32315311.post-90790021554845475642008-06-02T18:07:00.000-07:002008-06-02T18:07:00.000-07:00This will be a shock but I've never read Stephanie...This will be a shock but I've never read Stephanie Meyer. Invansion of the Bodysnatchers always freaked me out as a kid so I'm sure this would do the same. I'm not really into sci-fi/horror and it sounds like this is what The Host is. Maybe one of these years I'll get to her books.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06805703235065408842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32315311.post-44433245459708057882008-06-02T14:53:00.000-07:002008-06-02T14:53:00.000-07:00Aw, man! Had to keep wiping my eyes to read! I thought it was a very Christlike gesture (giving up the only life she ever loved because she loved someone else more)--and that kind of thing always makes me a boob.

Still, good review. I've known for quite some time that I'm easier to please than you are! (One of the many reasons I don't write my own book blog!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09413777557796110450noreply@blogger.com
